Carmel Prayer Fellowship traces its roots to a simple, Spirit-led time of prayer that began in 2013 at 4614 Sundown Ct, Missouri City, Texas. What began as neighbors and friends coming together to seek God in a living room soon developed into a regular, intentional time of intercession and praise.
In May 2018, guided by that ongoing sense of calling and confirmed by shared discernment among the core participants, the prayer group made the transition into a house church. This change was not simply organizational; it reflected a renewed commitment to discipleship, mutual accountability, and outward mission. Together they established practices of regular worship, Bible study, prayer ministry, and outreach to family and neighborhood.
In 2019 the fellowship appointed its founding pastor Robin C. Roy, affirming pastoral leadership to shepherd the growing community, provide teaching and pastoral oversight, and help steward the congregation’s vision. This appointment marked an important milestone: the informal prayer fellowship had become a recognized church family with pastoral care, structure for spiritual formation, and a clearer sense of mission and identity.
From its earliest days Carmel Prayer Fellowship has been shaped by a strong conviction that God’s kingdom brings freedom from spiritual bondages that can persist across generations. The church’s central mission is to see lives and families delivered from the yoke of spiritual oppression and unhealthy patterns so they can be restored and used for the work of God’s kingdom.
Carmel Prayer Fellowship has prioritized close-knit community and practical ministry. The church’s early life centered on home-based worship, small-group discipleship, Sunday school, music ministry, youth ministry, ladies ministry and hands-on care for members and neighbors. Key elements of community life include:
While Carmel Prayer Fellowship began in a particular cultural context, its leaders and members carry a clear, outward-looking vision: to become a multicultural, multiethnic church that reflects the breadth of God’s family. This vision arises from the belief that the gospel transcends divisions and that a diverse body enriches worship, ministry creativity, and missional effectiveness.
Beyond its founding pastor and core members, Carmel Prayer Fellowship is committed to raising up new leaders and equipping believers for lifelong discipleship. The church emphasizes training in biblical teaching, pastoral care, prayer ministry, and cross-cultural awareness so that its ministries remain healthy, accountable, and effective as the congregation grows and becomes more diverse.
From a house prayer in 2013 to an established house church in 2018 and the appointment of its founding pastor in 2019, Carmel Prayer Fellowship has consistently sought to be a community guided by the Holy Spirit, committed to prayer, and devoted to the restoration of families and individuals. The church’s evolution has been marked not by rapid expansion alone but by careful, Spirit-led growth and a persistent focus on deliverance, discipleship, and kingdom service.
As Carmel Prayer Fellowship moves forward, it holds fast to the conviction that God is calling it to wider ministry and deeper unity across cultural lines. The journey ahead includes continued prayer, faithful teaching, compassionate outreach, and intentional efforts to reflect heaven’s diversity on earth. In all this the fellowship seeks to honor God, free generations from spiritual yokes, and be a living instrument of the kingdom.
“Founded in 2018, our organization has been committed to serving the community with dedication and purpose, growing steadily while staying true to our values and vision.”
Pastor. Robin C. Roy serves as the Senior Pastor of Carmel Prayer Fellowship. His journey in ministry began at the age of 20, when he volunteered his time and gifts to serve the Lord. With a heart full of passion for God’s Kingdom, he gradually stepped into full-time ministry, where he has now dedicated over 14 years of faithful service.
Much of his ministry has been among youth, especially in Kerala, India, where God used him to encourage and equip many young people to walk closely with Christ. His deep concern for the next generation continues to inspire his preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
Today, as Lead Pastor of Carmel Prayer Fellowship, Pastor Roy carries a God-given vision to build a prayer-centered, Spirit-filled, and Christ-focused community.
